The people who will run Tanzania's space programme are scattered. Let's meet.
There is a national satellite in development and a five-year space strategy — and no organised network of the students and young professionals who will build on them. This is that network, starting small and honest: a mailing list, a WhatsApp group, and meet-ups on campus.
Students
At DIT, UDSM, UDOM, SUZA, MUST, SJUIT or anywhere else — engineering, ICT, physics, geography, statistics.
Makers and radio amateurs
Anyone who wants to build a ground station and hear a satellite pass over Dar es Salaam.
Young professionals
Data, GIS, software, telecoms — the skills a space programme runs on once the satellite is up.
Mailing list
TanSat-1 updates, opportunity deadlines, and event invitations. A few emails a month at most.
Message us and we add you to the group. Kiswahili or English — both are welcome.

What happens here
- 01 A directory of who is doing what in space, remote sensing, GIS and satellite communications in Tanzania — starting with the TanSat-1 universities.
- 02 Talks with people from the programme, the regulator, and the region's space agencies; meet-ups on a different campus each semester.
- 03 Application clinics before the deadlines on the opportunities page.
- 04 When TanSat-1 data flows: a student challenge on the real environmental and beacon streams.
Run by Interstellar Solutions Limited, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Independent of the TanSat-1 consortium and of any agency. About us
